5 ways to stay on track during the holidays

Turkey, sweet potatoes, pies & so many other sweet treats-Binging is an easy thing to do! It's easy to get off track during the holidays and commonly we eat (way too much) and regret it. Here are a few ways to stay on track during the holidays:

1. Moderation is your best friend
- Take small portions of the foods you want- if you take smaller portions you won't over eat & you still get to enjoy the things that you love.

2. Remember your goals
- You are on a fitness or health journey, keep your goal in mind. You can still enjoy thanksgiving and the amazing food, but don't gorge and then whine about spending 3 hours in the gym the next day (don't do that either) Portion control!! Eat what you want in moderation.

3. Fill your plate with mostly vegetables
- This goes for thanksgiving and any other day. It will trick your mind into thinking you have a lot of food when it's a lot of vegetables- which won't hurt you. It will make you think twice about a large piece of pie versus a tiny piece of pie!

4. Use a smaller plate
- This also can trick your mind into thinking you're eating more food. Once again, use small portions of each thing &a when you fill a smaller plate, it looks like a lot more food!

5. Get in a quick workout
- Whether it's a jog, yoga at home or a body weight workout- get up in the morning and do it! You won't feel as bad for the thanksgiving feast (in moderation) if you get in a workout. But, don't use the workout as an excuse to eat more. Stick to eating smaller portions.
*I will be posting recipes this week through Christmas of healthier desserts & recipes for the holidays- Stay tuned! ☺️
